Doh! I was domain searching at namecheap.com and went to type in the domain name: http://www.towerofconfusion.com/2008/09/19/learn-to-speak-fluently-in-no-time/ and guess who already acquired it? That’s exactly what I think each time I find a “Learn whateverLanguage in 10 days”. Do they think I’m stupid? You need dedication and patience to learn a new language. I’m struggling with English and German right now and I do not believe in miracles. By the way, I am a native Basque and Spanish speaker, so should you need any help on those, feel free to ask

The fact that the commentary to the “Icelandic in a week” documentary could include such a sentence as “The locals say that Icelandic is unpronounceable” (presumably, unable to pronounce their own language, the poor Icelanders were forced to “say” that by writing it down!) is some indication of the film makers’ level of thought… And, as has already been said, Icelandic and English are related languages. Had they really wanted to test their subject’s ability to learn something “totally new” they should have tried Basque.

Looked like he had some idea of what they were saying and he seemed to also make sense. On the other hand, Icelandic and English are both Germanic languages. They should have tried him on something like Korean.
